Trish + Andy
On Saturday, March 29th, Andy and I went hiking up in North Georgia with our 6 month old puppy Woodford ("Woody"). After a slight parking fiasco, Andy and I decided to extend our hike by taking the trailhead from Vogel State Park. While the temperature hovered around 32 degrees, it was a very sunny and pretty spring day. Perfect hiking weather. Following a 4.25 mile hike to the summit of Blood Mountain, Andy and I found a grassy spot in between boulders to have a picnic lunch from Alons with some white wine while Woody alternated between napping and exploring. After about two hours, Andy and I walked to a more secluded spot where Andy set up his phone on my pack to take a "non-selfie picture". While I was standing there cheesing for the camera, Andy got down on one knee and proposed. And, of course, Woody photo-bombed. The moment was perfection, and the aquamarine engagement ring that Andy and Jamie designed is flawless. Following an enthusiastic "YES," I'm pretty sure I almost hugged Andy off the mountain. After the hike down the mountain, Andy spirited me off to Athens to see my family and his sister. It was the perfect weekend!
Why an aquamarine engagement ring? I inherited the 8 carat aquamarine stone from my grandmother, as it is our birthstone. My other grandmother was also born in March, and her engagement ring was an aquamarine ring which now belongs to me as well. I had decided a while back that while white diamonds are beautiful, a traditional diamond ring was just not going to work for my hands. Andy and Jamie designed the perfect setting for the ring! It is absolutely impeccable!
