Nicole + Brian
I met my husband in February of 1991 at a tour of the University of Maryland. We both ended up there as freshmen that fall and in the same dorm, Easton Hall. We dated six years before Brian popped the question on October 2, 1997. He wrote me a poem where the first letter of each line spelled out, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" One line in the poem stated "Six steps for six years, you are my crowning jewel." The poem matched my engagement ring which had three diamonds on each side leading up to the center stone. We were married in 1999. Fast forward to 2012, Brian and I are now a family of four, with our girls Madison and Easton (yes, named after our beloved Maryland dorm) and my engagement ring and wedding band have been sitting in a jewelry box for the last ten years never worn. Size changes, style changes and comfort changes all caused me not to want to wear my ring. I approached Brian about resetting my stone and he was adamant we try to use the six stones from the original engagement ring, since they had so much meaning to us. But boy, everywhere I looked I had to buy their setting and no one would do anything custom! Enter in Jamie at Brilliant...
Jamie took some ideas in my head and some pictures and designed my ring to EXACTLY what I wanted! He made several drawings and finally it was perfect - the wax mold sealed the deal - I fell in love all over again with my ring. It did not include my six stones, but Jamie had a plan for me! He designed a new wedding band to accompany my ring, with all my six stones, and a couple more that I had from another ring I never wore. It is the perfect fit for me, my style and ALL my stones. Jamie was able to capture exactly what I wanted, and now, I don't leave home wihtout my ring and I get rave reviews from whomever sees it! The pictures don't even do it justice, the details in the hand engraving and the beautiful split shank, it is truly a "Brilliant" piece of art!
